Real-time cell growth & apoptosis - DRAQ7 & IncuCyte

Two groups from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai have demonstrated the combination of DRAQ7 and Essen BioScience IncuCyte ...

1.
As part of their cancer studies the laboratory of Prof. Ramon Parsons used the Essen BioScience Incucyte FLR(TM) to monitor cell growth and the additional information from DRAQ7 fluorescence to monitor cell death / apoptosis in parallel and in real-time.

Stratikopoulos, E. E., Dendy, M., Szabolcs, M., Khaykin, A. J., Lefebvre, C., Zhou, M. M., & Parsons, R. (2015).
Kinase and BET Inhibitors Together Clamp Inhibition of PI3K Signaling and Overcome Resistance to Therapy.
Cancer cell, 27(6), 837-851.

2.
In their BAX studies the group led by Dr Jerry Chipuk and Dr Donald Newmeyer (La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology) used DRAQ7 on the IncuCyte Zoom(TM) to assess cell permeabilization as a measure of tUPR

Renault, T. T., Floros, K. V., Elkholi, R., Corrigan, K. A., Kushnareva, Y., Wieder, S. Y., ... & Chipuk, J. E. (2015). Mitochondrial shape governs BAX-induced membrane permeabilization and apoptosis. Molecular cell, 57(1), 69-82.
