DRAQ5 in numbers ..

137 - Nature paper where authors have utilised DRAQ5
152 - papers cite DRAQ5 with the Amnis Imagestream & Flowsight
280 - different cell and tissue types were probed with DRAQ5 this year alone!
3300 - papers have used DRAQ5 since its launch in 2001
3 - years to DRAQ5's "use by date" after manufacture
- DRAQ5 works with all cytometers, fluorescence microscopes & HCS imagers
1 - brilliant dye!

Far-red DRAQ7 combines with JC-1 MMP probe

DRAQ7 is unique in its ability to combine with the polychromatic mitochondrial membrane potential dye JC-1.  This offers new opportunities for spatio-temporal analysis of apoptosis.

Smith, et al. (J Micro. (2013) 251: 113-122) describe the use of these two probes together to dissect micro-communities in tumour glycocalyx biology.

In their paper Houpt, et al. (Photochem. Photobiol. Sci. 2013 DOI: 10.1039/C3PP50189B) use this combination to elucidate the different mechanisms of cell damage from photosensitizers.

DRAQ7 has the additional property that it can be used in a real-time manner to monitor cell health before and after treatment / perturbation (Akagi et al, Cytometry Part A (2013) 83A: 227-234).
